HOW IT ALL STARTED
CAVE was born in April 2018 as a friends’ party in the small room of Barrio, bringing people together over great electronic music and shared moments. What started as an intimate gathering quickly grew into a recognised underground party in Brussels, attracting the LGBTQIA+ community and open-minded friends while preserving the close-knit, family spirit that has always defined CAVE.
From day one, organisers Thomas M and Fran Ber have been committed to building CAVE together with its DJs, staff, friends and growing community of Cavers. Through good times and challenging moments, including the pandemic, we have continued to evolve, explore new sounds and formats, collaborate with other clubs and create new experiences.
Over the years, CAVE has brought its community together in different venues and settings across Brussels, from club nights to open-air events, special editions and collaborations. Each chapter has contributed to the story of CAVE, while our core values have remained the same.
Since autumn 2026, UMI in Brussels has been CAVE’s new home base. We continue to explore new collaborations and locations, always bringing the same spirit, music and community with us.
Today, CAVE welcomes everyone who shares an open-minded attitude and respect for others. We celebrate diversity, individuality and the freedom to be yourself, regardless of your background, identity or orientation.
THE CONCEPT
Music first. One community.
CAVE is an inclusive underground party concept built around electronic music, community and mutual respect. We create a space where people can express themselves freely, connect with others and enjoy the dance floor together. Our golden rule is simple: come for the music, enjoy yourself and respect everyone around you.
Music is at the heart of everything we do. We bring together carefully selected local and international DJs, established artists and emerging talent. From progressive house, techno and trance to house, indie dance, nu-disco, deep and other electronic sounds, our programme reflects our curiosity and passion for underground music. We also embrace special performances, artistic collaborations and unexpected musical discoveries.
But CAVE is more than a party. Our Cavers are at the heart of our community. We want people to feel welcome, meet like-minded souls, discover new music and share memorable nights together. Whether you have been with us since the beginning or are joining us for the first time, there is room for you on our dance floor.
Respect is non-negotiable.
CAVE upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards violence, hostility, sexism, racism, misogyny, slut-shaming, transphobia, homophobia, body-shaming, ableism, Islamophobia, cultural appropriation and unwanted touching. Anyone engaging in such behaviour will be asked to leave the venue.
Looking ahead, our ambition is to keep growing without losing what makes CAVE special: a strong community, a commitment to underground music, a platform for DJs and artists, and a welcoming atmosphere built on freedom and respect. We want CAVE to remain a familiar name in Brussels and to connect with people visiting the city from across the world.
